My name is Robert Ponte and I have a question for you.

Why do you think one person becomes wealthy and another, with the same background, education and abilities continues to struggle from paycheck to paycheck?

Do you think wealthy people are a special superior breed? Do they have special advantages, which makes it easier for them to obtain and keep their wealth?  Is it just luck or family connections?

Or is there another reason?

I asked myself this same question a few years ago and I had to admit that, at the time, I didn’t know the answer. I held some vague idea that the wealthy didn’t pay taxes or had some special methods of protecting their assets. I also thought that wealthy people were part of a special elite “club” to which I could never really belong.

Yet in my life I had heard of people who started with nothing and became wealthy from their own efforts.

So I decided to find out for sure. I decided to find people who had become wealthy and find out how they did it.

Here’s what I found out.

I discovered that the first step to being wealthy was to open my mind to the possibility of being wealthy.  If I didn’t believe I could do it, I would not succeed. But as I talked to more and more successful people a strange thing happened. Because they were real and their stories and success was real, these people made me believe in the possibility.

But believing in yourself is not enough. You also need a plan and the proven knowledge—knowledge based on the real world -- that comes from the experience of building wealth.

Amazingly,  I got what I needed directly from individuals who were only too glad to share information and resources with me. You might think that somebody who developed his own “wealth building instruction book” would want to keep that information private. I have found exactly the opposite to be true. Truly successful people are happy to share their experiences and truly want to help others achieve their own dreams.

These people were role models for me and inspiration to share my discovery with others. So I started a workshop program in which successful wealthy people would be available in informal workshop sessions to share their experience and knowledge. I call the workshops “Knowledge Creates Wealth.”

Each workshop is four hours long, held in convenient locations and very informal. Attendees tell me that it is the face-to-face informality that creates the magic. Here’s what one attendee told me:
